Petyo Budakov

Chief assistant professor at the New Bulgarian University

Dr. Petyo Budakov graduated from the New Bulgarian University (NBU), Sofia, Bulgaria in December 2012 with Ph.D. in digital technologies and visual communication. He is a faculty at the NBU, Department “Cinema, advertising and show business” and a visiting-professor at Brand Academy, Hamburg, Germany, Kazakh-British Technical University, Almaty, Kazakhstan, Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai, China, Higher Colleges of Technology, Dubai, UAE and Tallinn University, Tallinn, Estonia.

As a chief assistant professor, most of his doctoral research has been devoted on the 3D digital media, brand identity development as well as designing and delivering effective information design.

Since 2007, he has been occupied as a managing director of his own advertising agency: BF Studio Ltd and in 2015, he became a co-founder of the online learning vocational training school – Adacademy® which is active in Berlin, Germany.

In 2016, Dr. Budakov was awarded with a research grant by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at HMKW Berlin /Hochschule für Medien, Kommunikation und Wirtschaft – University of Applied Science.

His latest research interests are focused on the establishment and development of innovative and effective e-learning & mobile learning strategies and platforms that move beyond the traditional e-learning approaches.

Dr. Petyo Budakov was selected as a finalist for the Falling Walls Lab Finale at the Falling Walls 2016 in Berlin, 08-09 November. He was privileged to give a talk to a large, high qualified audience, consisted of faculties from Stanford, Humboldt, Oxford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and etc.
